  • What’s the difference between a three-pronged plug and a two-pronged plug?

    A three-pronged plug is a grounding prong, whereas a two-pronged plug does not have the same level of grounding.

  • What should I do if an appliance continuously blows a fuse?

    Firstly, you will want to make sure there aren't too many things plugged into one circuit. Then you will want to unplug everything and call us to repair the blown fuse.

  • What’s the benefit of whole-house surge protection?

    This protects all the equipment in your home. This comes in handy if you own a lot of electronics or appliances.

  • What’s the difference between a blown fuse and a blown circuit breaker?

    A blown fuse is when the electrical current that passes through a fuse exceeds the limit, causing it to burn a hole in the strip of metal.


    A blown circuit breaker is when the electrical current that bases through the breaker exceeds the limit, causing it to trip. Breakers are able to be reset by filling the handle.

  • Are LED lights better than incandescent?

    While they are more expensive, they are also more efficient. LED lights also have a lower annual operating cost.

  • Do I need a special electrical box to install a ceiling fan?

    Yes. Since they are heavier they need a special mounting box. For fans up to 35lbs, saddle boxes are a good choice.

  • What are low-voltage fixtures?

    These are fixtures that include a transformer to reduce the voltage. Transformers create heat and finding mounting locations for these can be tough. 


    Low-voltage fixtures may have a higher installation cost, causing a downside to the product.

  • What does “grounding” mean?

    Grounding is giving an electrical current a safe way to the service panel to eliminate the danger of a short circuit.

  • What is a GFCI?

    A GFCI is an outlet with a 'test' and 'reset' button in the middle. This will automatically shut off a circuit when it detects it is not following properly. This also reduces the risk of electrical shocks.

  • What does a fishy smell coming from my outlet mean?

    This could mean your receptacle is damaged. Immediately turn off your power and call out electrical experts today.
